NSW Health Mobile App User Guide

NSW Health staff can use the Therapeutic Guidelines Limited mobile apps* to access trusted clinical information wherever they are working.

The apps are designed to support easy access to clinical information for users working on-site or remotely.

This user guide has been created to help you get the most out of the mobile apps. It provides step-by-step instructions on how to set up the mobile app you have chosen to use in your daily workflow.

* Products from the Therapeutic Guidelines Limited platform include Therapeutic Guidelines, Don’t Rush to Crush, Australian Injectable Drugs Handbook (AIDH) and ObesiD. You can access further guides and information in the Resource Hub.

Mobile App User Guide for NSW Health Staff

To install the Therapeutic Guidelines app on your mobile device, open your mobile web browser and navigate to the NSW Health Clinical Information Access Portal (CIAP). Then tap the Therapeutic Guidelines logo or link, which will direct you to the NSW Health login page.

Once you have logged into CIAP, you will automatically be redirected to the Therapeutic Guidelines website.

How to install our mobile apps (Android or iOS)

All Therapeutic Guidelines Limited mobile apps are Progressive Web Apps (PWA) and are available on Android and iOS devices.

To install any of the mobile apps for Therapeutic Guidelines, Don’t Rush to Crush, Australian Injectable Drugs Handbook (AIDH) or ObesiD on your device, follow the steps below.

Android devices

First, ensure you have followed the previous steps and are logged into the CIAP portal before attempting to install the Therapeutic Guidelines mobile app.

To install the mobile app on an Android device, follow these simple steps.

  1. Using your mobile web browser, navigate to the home screen of the Therapeutic Guidelines web app.
  2. Add to home screen: Once the Therapeutic Guidelines website loads in your mobile web browser, tap the three vertical dots (menu) in the upper right corner of the browser. Select “Add to Home screen” from the dropdown menu.
  3. Confirm installation: You may be prompted to confirm you have installed the mobile app. If prompted, please click the "Install" button and then tap "Add" to finalise.
  4. Accessing the app: The Therapeutic Guidelines icon will now appear on your home screen. Tap it to launch the app.

iOS devices

First, ensure you have followed the previous steps and are logged into the CIAP portal before attempting to install the Therapeutic Guidelines mobile app.

To install the mobile app on an iOS device, follow these steps.

  1. Using your mobile web browser, navigate to the home screen of the Therapeutic Guidelines web app.
  2. Tap the three dots in the bottom right corner of screen.
  3. Tap the "Share" button (a square with an upward arrow) at the bottom of the screen.
  4. Tap "More" (three dots again)
  5. Scroll down, then tap "Add to Home Screen".
  6. Tap "Add".

The Therapeutic Guidelines icon will now appear on your home screen. Tap it to launch the app.

Additional tips – offline access

The mobile app features a content offline mode that enables users to access content either with or without an internet connection.

To get started with offline mode, follow the steps below.

  • Your first time using the app after installation: Once you’ve installed the mobile app, first ensure you’re connected to the internet, then open the app. Once you open the app for the first time, the app will automatically download all its content to be available for offline use.
  • Your subsequent app uses after installation – updating the mobile app’s content: If you’re connected to the internet, the mobile app will automatically update its content each time you open it.

Please note the time taken to download or update the mobile app’s content will depend on the speed of your internet connection.

Troubleshooting

  • Recommended mobile web browsers: If your mobile app is not installing, please ensure you are using a recommended browser (i.e. Chrome, Safari)*, and that your device meets the installation requirements.
  • Product mobile app icon or logo not appearing? Try restarting your device or clearing your mobile browser cache if the icon or product logo does not appear after you've finished the installation process.

*Browser support: Firefox and Samsung Internet browsers are not supported.
