AIDH Updates

• Every monograph has been reviewed and updated for product availability, current formulations, stability, preparation, administration and compatibility.
• 11 new stability studies were identified resulting in new information in over 40 monographs.
• 55 reviewers contributed to the monograph updates, reviewing manufacturer information, published studies and considering user feedback.
• All clinical and practical resources have been reviewed and updated, with a new section on IV access and equipment, including midline catheters, filter needles and glass ampoules and compatible containers and infusion sets.
• Advanced search functionality to include key words (e.g. ambulatory, cytotoxic, filter, hazard, vesicant).
• A new online infusion rate calculator.
• A new table of potassium chloride premixed infusion bags to guide the safe selection and administration of potassium.
• The AIDH Editorial Committee together with the AdPha Emergency Medicine Leadership Committee have provided summary guidance on the preparation and administration of the first antimicrobial dose for adults with sepsis. Faster rates of administration for the first dose in sepsis are available in 7 monographs.
• Ambulatory antimicrobial therapy information was reviewed and updated in 26 monographs, with new information in 10 monographs from 5 new stability studies.
• New paediatric administration advice in agalsidase alfa and beta and isavuconazole.
• New hazard warnings for apomorphine and belatacept.
• Updated room temperature stability for neuromuscular blockers.
