A trusted name in injectable medication safety is set to reshape a routine clinical procedure for frontline health professionals with the launch of a new point-of-care tool.
The 10th edition of the Australian Injectable Drugs Handbook (AIDH10), due for release on 1 July 2026, will bring this trusted clinical resource into a new age that will have an immediate and positive impact on complex workflows at the point of care.
The AIDH10 app will introduce a new Infusion Rate Calculator. Designed to support and streamline complex workflows, it will help reduce the need for multistep calculations when administering injectable medicines. Health professionals can focus more on providing the best direct patient care and do so more efficiently.
The Infusion Rate Calculator is part of a significant upgrade to the AIDH digital experience. The app features a user-led redesign, offering a more intuitive interface and easier access to clinical guidance at the point of care.
AIDH10 also marks the first edition developed under a partnership between Advanced Pharmacy Australia (AdPha) and Therapeutic Guidelines Limited. Content has been extensively reviewed and updated by pharmacists and nurses, while the app itself has been redesigned and is powered by the Therapeutic Guidelines platform.
The new edition includes updated information on more than 500 injectable drugs, including more 29 newly added entries. Notable clinical updates include new guidance on the preparation and administration of the first antimicrobial dose for adults with sepsis, a condition linked to avoidable and preventable deaths.
Building on nearly 30 years of clinical use, the AIDH10 app will modernise a widely trusted resource for today’s healthcare environment.
